Guest Speaker: Harry James Cook
Our guest speaker's topic was on, THE PEOPLE OF THE ABYSS, and focused on the relevance of this acclaimed sociological study, its publication history, key themes and issues in the text, and why Jack the Ripper scholars are so interested in, THE PEOPLE OF THE ABYSS. His power point presentation was comprised largely of photographs taken by London himself during his dive into the Under-World.
Harry Cook wears many hats, and here are only a few: the English Department Chairman at a Baltimore-area high school, an Associate Professor of Amrican Literature at a local community colleg, three-time NEH award-winner, and member of the Jack London Advisory Board. |
