Ranch Cottage Restored

Jack London's ranch cottage restored
Jack and Charmian moved into this cottage September 5, 1911, upon their return from their four-horse trip through Northern California and Oregon. It is believed the cottage was built around 1860 by the Kohler-Frohling Winery. It became his primary residence until his death in 1916. It was to be a temporary home until Wolf House was built, unfortunately Wolf House was destroyed by fire just before plans to move into it. Jack then added a study to the cottage and continued to feverishly write and make plans for his beloved Beauty Ranch, tragically his health steadily declined and he died here November 16, 2023 from kidney disease.
