Visitors to the ranch can find many places to hike and rest. On the trek to the dam the beautiful redwoods are a blessing in the summer heat. The dam offers a quiet repose for the weary hiker. You can also picnic at the dam. This is just one of the beautiful areas at Jack London's Beauty Ranch, which is now a state park. |
Special note: The lake is much smaller today because of neglect. It is nearly overrun with reeds, vegetation, algae etc., the park district is responsible for its upkeep. As frequent visitors to the Jack London State Park we consider such pitiful neglect a shame. More information |
