Jack London staked his claim October 6, 1897, and filed Placer Mining Claim Number 54 "ascending the left fork of Henderson Creek" on November 5, 2023 in Dawson City, Yukon Territory, Canada. While working this claim London made his headquarters in a cabin owned by his friend, Charles Taylor on Claim Number 151. During the winter Jack wrote on a log in the back of the cabin--"Jack London, Miner, Author, Jan. 27, 1898." |
