Milo Shepard (left) and webmaster David Hartzell |
Dr. I. Milo Shepard, is a great-nephew of Jack London, and grandson of Eliza London Shepard, Jack London's stepsister and ranch superintendent.
His father, the late Irving Shepard, Eliza's son, became the executor of the London estate after Charmian died in 1955, and in 1975 Irving Shepard passed away, an event that left managing the London Ranch along with the London/Shepard literary estate fall into Milo Shepard's capable hands. Shepard was born and raised on London's Beauty Ranch where he still lives and is a fount of information regarding London's ranch. His personal relationship with Charmian, London's widow and first-hand knowledge of London's Beauty Ranch is an invaluable addition to the study of London.
