Model of Jack London's Wolf House By David Danz |
|
The Wolf House model was started over 30 years ago. As a memorial to Jack and Charmian, I took upon myself to try to re-create their "DREAM" home. Through pictures I collected and with the help of the late Russ Kingman, I acquired some pictures, took to a blueprint service and had them blown up to scale. I used these to create the model. |
I went to the site and "borrowed" a small piece of the lava rock to make it official. Mixed in with other lava rock, I began construction. Two years later, and over 2,000 hours, the finished product you see. The weird thing about this is that when I was going over my notes, I realized that the construction date was the same time of the month that the real Wolf House was being built, and the completion date was the same day the Wolf House burned down...I believe I had some help in creating this...(Jack) Hope the photos of my model will enable visitors to this site, The World of Jack London, a glimpse of what Wolf House could have been. - David Danz |

Note: We wish to express our thanks to David Danz for sharing his model of Wolf House with us. It is difficult to present from words alone, what London's home would have looked like. To present us with color photos is a special treat! Thanks to David's hard work we have a better idea what this magnificent home looked like.
