AUTHOR'S FOREWORD

This book, written by a Russian scholar, concerns the searching and finding of little known works of one of the more famous American writers. The author of this book describes his visits to parts of the world where Jack London lived and wrote, the author's meetings with London's descendants and those who were acquainted with him, about new details of London's biography, which is full of events, and of the circumstances of the abrupt death of the man who loved life so much. It is also concerned with the complicated fate of his works, which were received differently at various periods both in his own country and in Russia.
